Beryl Wood

Beryl grew up in Lancashire, UK and has been residing in the Gladstone region since 1983.

She started painting at the age of 60 after taking advice for health reasons.  Her life has changed tremendously since then.  She also has had theatre interests, but only at the age of 70 did she get the opportunity to fulfill this interest.

She is currently painting several works for entry into various competitions and exhibitions.

SUNfest 99 Youth School Holiday program

Design and co-ordination of mural painting at Gladstone City Library measuring 19m x 2 m with twenty young people aged 12 - 17.

2000 Workshop tutor for Op Art at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum celebrating International Women's Day.

2001 Costume designer, writer and director for two pantomimes performed at the Gladstone Entertainment Centre.

Island Sands Festival - Costume designer for 'Molyer' play.

Costume designer and performer for 'Triplets'.

2003 SUNfest 2003 Youth School Holiday program.

Drama project collimating in a public performance at the Gladstone Entertainment Centre.

Produced scene from a pantomime for an under 10’s drama group Stagestruck performed at the Gladstone Harbour Festival.

2004 Participated in community arts project to construct mosaic mural at Gladstone Aquatic Centre under the guidance of Helen and Kriket Broadhurst.

Mobile Mural painting of a bus by artists and primary school children a Queensland Arts Council project.
